Globe-Pac® Random Tower Packing

Tri-Packs® specification equivalent

Globe-Pac is Lantec's tradename for the off-patent spherical packing most commonly specified in the US as Tri-Packs®. Both are replicas of the original spherical Hacketten packing from Germany in the 1970s. Globe-Pac is manufactured in the United States by Lantec in 2" and 3.5" sizes, with NSF-certified product available in the 3.5" size. For projects where Tri-Packs® is specified, Globe-Pac qualifies directly.

Globe-Pac® Random Tower Packing

Specification Compliance

Globe-Pac matches the original Jaeger Tri-Packs® geometry that became an industry standard for air strippers, degasifiers, and wet scrubbers. The patent expired; the specification persists. When engineering documents call for Tri-Packs, Globe-Pac qualifies without redesign or resubmittal.

Two Sizes for Standard Applications

Globe-Pac is available in 3.5" and 2" nominal sizes. The 3.5" size carries NSF certification for direct contact with potable water, making it suitable for drinking water air strippers and degasifiers. The 2" size provides higher surface area per cubic foot for applications where tower diameter is constrained.

Materials for Diverse Service Conditions

Globe-Pac is available in polypropylene, glass-filled polypropylene (10% glass fibers, 90% PP), polyethylene, and PVDF/Kynar for elevated temperatures and aggressive chemical service. Contact Lantec's technical department for material recommendations in non-standard applications.

NSF Certified

For direct contact with drinking water in treatment systems with a minimum flow rate of 1.6 gallons per minute per square foot (96 gallons/hour/ft²)

Tri-Packs® is a registered trademark of Raschig USA Inc.
